Music and Photos: Stars in My Eyes by The Original Rudeboys

Dublin is famous for its busking culture. Every musician played on the streets at one time in their career and it definitely gives a certain edge for the visitors as well.

This young lad was playing his heart out on Grafton street when I was walking there without any particular notice from the people around him – the beauty of it was that it didn’t stop him putting it all out there. For him, at that moment, playing was not for attention, it was for himself.

Busking on Grafton Street, Dublin

It was perfectly described in The Original Rudeboys brilliant song: Stars in My Eyes. That, for me, is such a perfectly “Dublin-song” (if that actually exist) that it should be played on every corner.

Do you have any songs or stories about busking?

About Miss Andi

Learning to be unapologetically me but healthier. Shamelessly personifying my dog, Mia, who is my soulmate, though doesn't let me read as much as I used to. One day I'll finish a novel that will not save the world - but might make it smile.
