Some music from London town

I had an eclectic music evening bouncing from one link to another, one suggestion to the next. Here are some that stood out tonight.

Electronic: Coldabank

Heartstrings is a mature sound, not what you’d expect from an emerging artist and with the support from the likes of DJ Charlesy, it sounds like a favourite for the more sophisticated house music.

R&B: Ethan Breakaway

If you enjoy the likes of Pharrell Williams or The Weeknd, you’ll like Ethan’s original songs. His cover of Sleepless is less electronic and closer to my style showing off his unique singing voice flawlessly. With a new EP coming soon, he’s one to watch.

Indie Rock: Rocky Nti

His sound reminds me of Madness, which is not at all what I expected. It’s a big step-up from his EP (you can download it free) so I’d watch out for his new music.

Alternative rock: Nothing But Thieves

Making significant noise even before their first album is out, the 5-piece has already released 7 singles and supported Arcade Fire and George Ezra among others. Signed to RCA Records they’re starting their first headline tour in October. Honey Whiskey is already available from their upcoming album, and the title is quite apt: it’s a soothing sound that leaves you excited.
