Music & Words

Indie music blog. Their music, our words, in perfect harmony.

#MusicMonday

I love music.  I love people who love music.  I love people who make music.  But, most importantly, I love people who share music.  That’s a whole lotta love.  This week’s #MusicMonday is brought to you compliments of friends who have shared music with me, and the bands they shared, whose music I (….wait for it…) loved.

#5 Jackson LeBeau

Genre:  Americana Folk-Pop  Their sound in 5 words:  Heartfelt, Energetic, Organic, Optimistic, Catchy.

Jackson LeBeau and Company are currently in the studio recording their first full length album.  Once released, they are planning a tour to follow.  Until then, you can download free music here, or find them on iTunes, SoundCloud, YouTube, Spotify, and Google Play.

#4  Partisan

Genre:  Rock/Indie Rock with a hint of Grunge  Their sound in 5 words:  Punchy, Anthemic, Bold, Unflinching, Energetic.

Partisan is back in the studio next month, with new tracks to be released during the summer, and an album out near year’s end.  You can see them live on March 24 at The Shed in Leicester and at Business Rocks in Manchester in April.  If you aren’t lucky enough to make it to the shows, you can find their music on SoundCloud, ReverbNation, iTunes, Spotify, and Google Play.

#3  Harbors

Genre:  Alternative Rock/Indie Rock or, in David’s words, “Lumber Goth Flannel-Core Coffin Rock” (You gotta love a musician whose humor is as brilliant as his music).  Their sound in 5 words:  Springy, Dangly, Hoarse, Noisy, Sleepy.

Harbors is currently in the studio, with a new demo to be released on SoundCloud in a few days.  Give a listen to their current fave song, Rust, for a hint of what’s to come.  Once complete, they plan on touring the new album, hopefully to a city near you.  Until then, you can hear more from Harbors on YouTube and iTunes.

Interesting assortment of tunes. So much good music out there still. Especially liked the sound of Harbors.

Thanks, Arlee. I agree. Sometimes I feel like there is so much great music and so little time.

Great stuff! Especially LeBeau, Harbors and the brief Diamond Days clip. I love exploring new music. I love browsing soundcloud.com and grabbing a dozen random CD’s from the library. I always find a few gems among them.

    Recent additions to my collection:

    – Big Star (yeah, from 45 years ago!)
    – Senegal Astroturf (https://senegalastroturf.bandcamp.com/track/empress-dogs-2)
    – DefNe (http://defne.bandcamp.com/)

I write my own music too. I don’t try to market it. I do it because I think everyone should!
