I know it’s very late but here’s a lovely compilation of the great Van Gogh with Starry Starry Night of Don Mclean.
I’ve always felt strangely drawn to Van Gogh. He was an amazing artist, his name is now known all over the world but he died alone, in poverty, feeling unloved and unappreciated. It didn’t stop him from continuing his art. He lived for it, no matter what happened and he stayed true to it despite everything.
“…to me he was not only the greatest artist but one of the greatest men who ever lived…” (Doctor Who)
To me, he’s the example that a life full of torment can still bring light into others, even centuries apart. It shows that seemingly pointless pain of today can have meaning tomorrow.
Thank you Vincent.
Very nice. I’m late too, but the end is near.
